Drink and Draw - Blind Contour Art Fun

This event is the perfect art activity and icebreaker for work teams looking for an engaging way to bond and let loose while still relaxing. Enjoying your favorite cocktail or mocktail while creating art is highly encouraged!

In this 60 minute class, we'll learn how to master technical skills but don't worry we'll be having tons of fun while doing it. We'll warm up with quick activities like shading and cross-hatching, warming up your hand-eye coordination. Followed by abstract blind contour drawings, which is when you look at your object without looking down at the paper. We'll practice drawing common household items, like a coffee mug or a plant. Lastly, we'll work on portraits! While looking in the camera, guests will draw what they see without looking, or picking their pencils off the paper. As a fun side, whenever someone looks at their paper, we all have to take a drink!

I want everyone to leave with a greater sense of their own natural artistic abilities. Because we are creating tangible pieces of artwork, we can see and appreciate (and usually laugh at) the end results together. The feedback has been excellent and most guests have said they felt closer to their peers and coworkers.

There is no delivery involved in this virtual event.

- Charged laptop or phone
- Zoom application already installed
- Drawing tools: pencil and black sharpie or dark colored marker
- 6-7 pieces of blank paper, at least 8"x10"
- Beverage(s) of your choice
- Household objects that you want to draw: Cup or mug, and a plant or a shoe. Can also be Holiday themed!
- Colored pencils, markers, crayons or paint (optional)
