Women’s History Month


Join former Chez Panisse chef and longtime cooking instructor Shelley for an hour-long cooking class. You'll come away with something delicious to eat, and boosted confidence in your cooking chops.

Choose from one of these three dishes for your group to make:

1) French Onion Soup
Together we'll make French Onion Soup. Learn the magic of slowly caramelizing onions, and turning them into soup that is luxe and luscious. And you’ll learn the origin of “crouton” when you float that cheese-laden delight on a bowlful.

2) Lemon Curd
Learn to make delicious Lemon Curd from scratch. This silky, sweet-tart confection shines on toast, and makes killer tarts and lemon bars. One batch, and you'll feel ike a pro. We'll make a quart of curd and eat it with sugar cookies.

3) Sicilian Red Sauce
This Sicilian Red Sauce is so southern Italian. You’ll learn to coax big flavor out of a few simple ingredients, and master a recipe that is yours forever. We’ll make several quarts of sauce, and eat it with rigatoni, Pecorino, and gusto.

The class includes:

I can adapt recipes to allergies and vegan needs, and make suggestions for Kosher preparations.

This is a virtual event.

A Zoom link is provided by default in your confirmation email, but you can use other video conferencing software if you prefer.

What to bring

- Supplies from the provided shopping list
- An apron, and if possible, your favorite chef's knife. (The point of the class is to help my students feel comfortable in their own kitchen, so using your favorite knife will add to your sense of ease).

Grace period: free cancellation within 24 hours of booking deposit or confirmation but no later than 24 hours prior to the event start time. After that, cancel at least 7 days prior to the event to receive full refund (minus booking fee).
