Join your host Lila in learning top food sustainability secrets and recipes in this "lecture style" nutrition session complete with engaging questions, fun and colorful slides and Q+A.
Lila will give you tips on how to use all parts of your food for different purposes, easy eco DIY projects, and pantry hacks!
Lila is a Certified Holistic Nutritionist and will share the health benefits of eating sustainably. Discover new ways to use parts of your food you'd usually throw away, and how easy it is to be more green.
This class-only event starts with a lecture style session and kitchen tour, and then follows up with one of these three options:
1) What's in your fridge?
Participants will share what they have in their fridge, and Lila and your group will brainstorm what they could make from those items. This is an interactive activity and cooking will not be taking place.
2) Radish top pesto
Lila will demo how to make pesto, and your guests can follow along if they'd like, with ingredients they've sourced from a shopping list. (see "What to Bring")
3) Sauerkraut - Participants will learn hands-on how to make sauerkraut with ingredients they have sourced from a shopping list. (see "What to Bring")

Depending on which of these three event options you are doing with your team, bring the following:
1) What’s in your Fridge:
Bring just you in your kitchen, or a short list of what’s in your fridge.
2) Radish Top Pesto:
Bring the following, if you wish to participate in the demo:
Ingredients:
- 1 bunch radish tops
- 1 bunch cilantro
- ½ bunch parsley
- 1 cup arugula
- ⅓ cup hemp seeds
- ¼ cup nutritional yeast
- ½ tsp salt + more to taste
- ¼ tsp granulated garlic
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 3 tsp vinegar
- 2 tsp lemon/lime
Supplies:

3) Sauerkraut:
Bring the following for this hands-on activity:
Ingredients:
- 1 head green cabbage, weighing about 1 1/2 lbs
- 3/4 Tablespoon high-quality sea salt
- 1 Tablespoon whole caraway seeds
Supplies:
- 16oz Pint Wide mouth mason jar
- 8oz half pint mason jar
- Cutting board
- Knife
- Large bowl
